U.S. Working Group to counter hate and division

The U.S. Working Group to Combat Hate and Division was founded in June 2017 with the intention of bridging a conversation between international and U.S. practitioners. It does so by bringing together international conflict prevention organizations, who with the shifting socio-political environment wanted to examine the efficacy of applying their tools domestically, and U.S. civil liberties and anti-hate organizations who have spent decades working on creating a more just, peaceful, and inclusive society. By the end of 2020, this Working Group had expanded to encompass 44 organizations and was the first cross-disciplinary conversation of its kind. Throughout 2020, the Working Group met every other month to engage substantively on tools and methodologies as well as to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and breakthroughs.
